We have been planning a little makeover for our purple powder room since we moved in. Our budget is almost non-existent so I had to come up with some creative ways to update the space. It’s always a good idea to start a project with a mood board so you can research products, inspiration photos, colour scheme etc. The board allows you to play around with ideas by mixing all the elements in one place and acting as your road map in a sense. A few of the items on my board will not be used in the manner they were intended so you will have to stay tuned for our re-purposed shenanigans…:) The board also includes elements that pre-exist so I thought they were important to include in order to capture the whole vision. I want this space to be neutral, calming and earthy so wish us luck!
This is the current state of our powder room. PURPLE…Yuck!
Great Size Window w/ Privacy Blinds
Country Style Plank Door
PURPLE (Lilac) Paint…just wouldn’t be my first choice
Builder Light Fixture
Mirror (might just have to stick around a little longer…)
This little powder room has great bones and a lot going for it already but it just needs a little update to make it feel more like our home. I’m learning that whether you have a huge budget or just a tiny one its very beneficial to “shop” your house and use what you have to make your space reflect your taste and family style.
Can’t wait for the final reveal!
Have you ever made a mood board for your decorating projects??
