Last week I went to my first Urban Barn Workshop: How To Get Cozy For Fall. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to go because for one reason or another I have always missed out on previous workshops. If you ever have a chance to go, do it! They offer free advice on how to style a room based on the season and you get a nice introduction to the latest styles they offer. I took some notes and photos while I was there so I could blog about it just for you! With the cooler air and the dwindling daylight it’s important to create a cozy, warm and inviting indoor space so staying in during the fall and winter months is much more pleasant. Plus, creating a cozy fall space turns into a cozy winter space. Almost all the accessories and soft accents they used in the workshop can be transitioned into a nice cozy Christmas space.
The workshop focused mainly on three different palettes: contrasting colours, neutrals, and monochromatic. All three palettes included throw pillows, throw blankets, coffee/accent table accessories and lamps. They also showcased products that were versatile and could be used in either the living room or bedroom. The main thread ( pun intended – ha ha! ;)) was colour, texture and pattern. Each grouping included all three of those details in order to create a cozy and inviting room with visual interest and purpose. I created some fun moodboards to capture a few of the accessories they presented. Enjoy! #ubhomehowto
Palette Number One: Contrasting Colours – Navy + White
Palette Number Two: Neutrals – White + Brown + Beige (with a touch of green)
Palette Number Three: Monochromatic – Purple + Berry
I may or may not have purchased a little something…you’ll have to stay tuned for that.
You can find their link here if you care to do a little online shopping from your own cozy living room 🙂
