Hey! How’s it going?
I recently picked up a new loveseat for the small “formal” living room at the front of the house. And by “picked up” I mean I drove a million kilometers back and forth just for the store to tell me one piece was not in stock after waiting what felt like an eternity…and then impatiently awaiting the delivery of the main component a week later. Cue the frustration.
Anyway, the main piece finally arrived and when it did I could have hugged the delivery driver; however, that would have been quite embarrassing for him ;). So I finally have all the parts and away I went building, arranging and then rearranging. I bought the Vimle loveseat from Ikea for the space because its comfortable, the scale is perfect, the form is simple and a little more modern then some of the other pieces in our house. The simplicity in shape and colour was appealing to me. If you follow along on Instagram you may have seen a post asking for an opinion on this option and another one that was completely opposite. The other loveseat was more of a traditional style with a tufted back, sloped arm and one solid seat cushion, it was navy and really beautiful. Would it have worked in the space? Absolutely! But, was it us…? No. I ultimately went with the Vimle loveseat because it fits into our lifestyle, we are jeans and t-shirt people. Do we like dressing up and do we appreciate elegant spaces? Of course, but our house needs to be comfortable and approachable for our family and friends. I also move my furniture around all of the time and this one is versatile enough to mix into our living room if we need additional seating. The other one was a little stuffy and the cover was not removable so not six-year-old friendly… Another bonus is that the cover can be changed and this loveseat easily converts into a larger sofa with or without a lounge or even an L-shaped option.
I took a few shots this morning to show you guys the size, colour and texture. I will eventually switch out the rug and add in a coffee table but I just haven’t found anything I love enough to buy. I just shopped my house and threw a few things together. Check Out Our New Loveseat: The Vimle

Thanks for your question! I am familiar with the Kivik but I have never owned one. Perhaps I will do a post to compare the two. Stay tuned!
