I am so excited to take you on a tour of our red and white Christmas living room!!
We are team #realtree over here and originally I wanted to do a simple frosty white tree but after decorating it both my husband and six year old said “we need colour!”. I really like the simplicity of Scandinavian holiday design but with these two 😉 I needed to layer to make them feel festive and cozy. So bring on the red ribbon, red ornaments, red beaded garland, red stockings and red pillows.
I adore a flocked Christmas tree but we always get a real one because well, its one of our traditions. This year I was determined to get a frosted look and after trying to flock a real tree last year and failing miserably I opted for faux branches that are easily incorporated. You literally just place them in the tree. Ta da! Partially flocked! Then I added the frosted branches, beaded garland, ribbon and ornaments. I also opted for a cozy blanket instead of an actual tree skirt because its what I had and I didn’t fall in love with anything I saw in store.
As for the textiles, I bought the two red pillow covers and the neutral reindeer pillow. The rest are all blankets and pillows I already had.
The wreath I made at a local flower shop and I am so not ready to part with it even though my husband loves to point out the endless supply of needles it keeps dropping…pfff.
The coffee table consists of decor I already had and have just re-purposed. The tall white candle holder house is something I will keep out all year long because of its versatility, sure it will move around but I knew when I bought it that I would keep it out. Plus is was a a steal at only $19.
I hope you enjoy the tour and that it inspires you!
