I hope you’re ready for the holiday next week, if not, here are four quick and easy holiday decorating ideas that are sure to make an impact when your friends and family come to visit. The good new is, you probably have some of these things already at home. Whether you are a maximalist, a minimalist or somewhere happily in between, I hope something here inspires you. So, here we go!
Pretty Christmas Ornaments
If you have a tree then surely you have ornaments hanging around. Pun intended. Ha! Gather your ornaments and simply place them in a vessel of your choice. You can use a bowl (wire, glass, wood etc.), a cloche, vase or lantern to neatly display them on a coffee table, console, shelf or even your dining table. This is super simple and easy to clean up, no pointy needles, sticky sap, ribbon, tape, string or hooks. Gather like colours that coordinate with the rest of your accessories, toss them in a bowl and you are done! It’s that simple and inexpensive. If you wanted to cluster like vessels and place them centrally on a coffee table or right down the middle of your dining table you absolutely could.

Cozy Faux Fur Pillows and Blankets
Add some warm winter texture with faux fur! Think pillows, blankets and stockings that create a warm, cozy and inviting atmosphere. You don’t have to overdue fur pillows because I don’t know many people who want their face on faux fur but go all out with the faux fur blankets. There is nothing more cozy then warm layers that are soft to the touch in colours of the season. Plus they really make a great neutral that will last through the entire winter, not just Christmas. I suggest mixing faux fur, a knit option and a holiday saying or print over the holiday. Swapping the Christmas print for a solid or neutral print would be great to transition into the new year.

Simple Fresh or Faux Mini Wreath Place Setting
This will take a bit of patience but even if you aren’t an avid DIYer, I promise, this is so simple anyone can manage. You will need a few small branches from the bottom or back of your real Christmas tree OR use faux garland greens. You want long straight soft pieces so trim off any chutes. Simply curl the soft branch into a circle and secure with a piece of wire or even an extra metal ornament hook. Use a ribbon that corresponds with your wrapping paper, which you hopefully have left over, to cover theΒ wire. Place the mini wreath in the center of the salad plate and tuck the ribbon up and underneath at the top. Alternatively you could use rosemary, twine instead of ribbon or even hang them on the back of the chairs.

Bring The Outside In: Branches & Twigs
This is for the minimalist who can’t be bothered with extra layers and prefers negative space (in a good way) in order to see only the silhouette. It is as simple as bringing in long dry unruly branches/twigs and placing them in a glass vessel. Allow them to fall naturally and don’t overdue anything else in the space. Form is key here. Be sure the branches/twigs are long enough to make a statement by fanning out slightly and taking up vertical space. This is a very simple and free centerpiece that will look good all winter as long as the surroundings stay clean, neat and without any clutter. You aren’t trying to build a forest but rather highlight the naturally corky attributes of the twigs silhouette. Optional, spraying them white, silver, gold or black.

All of these ideas are meant to inspire and be completed with what you might already have at home, on a limited budget or a tight schedule.

I wish you and your family and very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
