Hi Friends,
I recently had the pleasure of creating a Scandinavian inspired winter home tour for the annual Royal LePage Locations North Holiday House Tour. Each year they put together an amazing holiday house tour to raise money for local charities. Even though this year the tour was cancelled due to the pandemic they still wanted to create an online tour. The idea of carrying on the tradition and encouraging the community to donate where they can, spread some holiday cheer, and share holiday inspiration is wonderful.
Abbey, a realtor, and her husband Andrew, an artist, have worked incredibly hard on the renovation of their home. This property was near and dear to Abbey’s heart so as soon as it became available she jumped at the opportunity to breathe new life into this sweet little bungalow. Through the process, they discovered the original brick under the stucco, completely reconfigured the layout, hand-planed each and every floorboard which was up-cycled from an old derby rink. A 12-foot table that spans the dining room, it was made by hand using wood found in the original structure. Listening to the stories of the renovation, the thoughtful use of material, and seeing the fruits of their labor was an absolute delight.
With this tour, it was only natural to go with a minimalist handmade Scandinavian-inspired design. The idea of stacked wood, handmade details, warm candlelight, and unruly wreaths felt so fitting.
I hope you enjoy the tour, look for joy in this season, and donate in any way you can in your community.

So beautifully done Ashley and so true to the simplistic, rustic hygge style that Scandi is. Loved all of this!

Thank you so much. Have a lovely holiday!
